What's wrong with Macon Transit Authority?

I have seen improvements but there are still plenty more that needs to be done.  Maybe they're having budget issues.  But here is something I notice too often.

This is a bus stop on Tom Hill Sr. Blvd.  You wanna know why these shopping cart lay to their side?  Because there's no where to sit.  What happened to wooden benches?  Are they really that expensive?  This is a shopping center.  Please install seating.  Preferably 2 benches, with or without an awning is fine.

I think Macon Mall is the only bus in Macon that you can actually expect to arrived every 30 minutes.  All other bus, you would have to wait for an hour or more.  (But that's understandable)
I have noticed lately that there have been more a few buses breaking down.  So don't depend on the bus to take you to work on time.

This is the Walmart bus stop in West Macon, now they do have this enclose bench, but the bench is broke.  and it's so close-in that some of them men feels like they are in a holding cell.  and because the weather gets hot in Macon, it feels like I'm in a sauna inside.  The solution should be have some regular wood bench outside also.  It's that too much to ask for.  With one time advertisement to sponsor a bench, should take care of the cost of placing one.  And a bench is the perfect money making machine for MTA.

Willow Tree Vitamin & Herb

I needed some Golden Seal and Willow Tree Vitamin & Herb on 2nd Street were the only one in town that carry the raw form and not the tablet form.  But my oh my, it was $11.50 + tax for an once.  I used to pay for $15 for a lb in Atlanta.  So I guess I'll be planning a trip to Atlanta very soon.

Kroger on TomHill Sr Blvd - Deli Review

So a friend just moved in the neighborhood and we wanted to grab lunch after getting our nails done on Tom Hill Sr. Blvd.  I suggested to go across the street to Panera Bread Restaurant but my friend wanted to show off the deli inside Kroger.  I must admit this Kroger far exceeded my expectations.  They have a soup and salad bar.  And friend's favorite is the cheese and olive section.  We ordered your typical one entry and two side dish.   To my excitement, I wasn't paying attention to the service at first.  But I did notice how we had to wait for our food for so long and how slow the server was.  Maybe she was tired and nearing her clock out.  So I dismissed that.  But what I couldn't dismissed, was the food, was serve cold and seemed like it has been seating dry for so long.  I was really disappointed when I took a bite of the so called chicken tenders, they tasted like they just left the fridge.  That's how cold the meat was.  I'm not the one to complain.  but my friend did.

So the server, offered to please us by giving us both fresh and hot chicken tenders. But what really made my day, surprisingly good, was the free chicken salad they gave us.   I should have ordered this instead.  The chicken salad had grapes in it and it was deliciously made.  So Kroger did made up for my bad lunch experience.  But I don't think I'll eat there for lunch again, but I will definitely buy more of their chicken salad.

hot chicken fingers

So on my way out, I did grab a bag of apples for less than $5 bucks
which my daughter loves to snack on.

Goodwill Cafe in Macon Georgia

I was taking the bus to Walmart one day and I found out that the Macon Mall Bus Route takes you to Goodwill located on Eisenhower Parkway.  So I decided to take the bus today to go check it out.  What I like about this Goodwill is their cafe and bookstore.  They sell used books.  I really wanted some vintage crochet books and luckily I found a couple of them.

inside the cafe

Crochet Books - bought for $2.99 each

I really wanted to see if they have some books I could add to my etsy shop as vintage and I think these are perfect.  The only thing is I really like these books and planning on keeping them.

Grabbed a cup of joe and blueberry muffin

inside the cafe.

Definitely coming back, maybe once a week.

Gloomy and Rainy

It's Saturday here in Macon and its been gloomy and rainy all day.  It looks like its going to be like this all weekend long.  The worst part is I have no coffee in the house, bagel, or cream cheese.   It's the perfect time for such treat.

Jittery Joe's of Macon Georgia

Unfortunately, Joshua Cup went out of business and so I'm here at Jittery Joe's to catch up with work and have a cup of coffee with a cheese Danish.  I placed my order and the total came up to $4.00 gave the associate a $10 bill.  And she quickly gave me my danish and a small coffee.  But I was waiting for my change and she never did gave me any money back.  So I'm going to let it go and not say anything to see if there's a pattern.  Is not like they were super busy, because there was only me and another person in line.  Anyway, let me know if any else experience the same.

Where to get free Wi-Fi in Macon?

1. Joshua Cup Coffee House 2.Panera Bread 3. Most of McDonald's Restaurants 4.Krystal Fast Food Restaurants 5.Starbucks - My favorite is probably Starbucks and McDonalds because they allow you to stay as long as you want without them giving you any hassle. Plus All the listing here except for Krystals have places for you to plug in your laptop for extra needed power.
