Central City Park of Macon

According to the tablet below this gazebo which I call a cupola is actually called "The Speakers Stand".
I had no idea it had some significant history attached to the confederates.  Ouch!  I saw it a perfect place to get married.  Anyway this park is called CENTRAL CITY PARK of Macon Georgia.  Its located at the edge of downtown Macon.  It's primarily used for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival.  Which is fills up the park with thousands of people from all over.  Anyway the park has a playground for children and grille for cooking out.  Unlike the Ocmulgee Heritage Park by the River, you're not allowed to have a cook out.  And there are plenty of picnic tables and gazebos.  It also have a water fountains and a small wooden arch bridge.  But the water fountain were not on yesterday while I took these photos.  The park also house a baseball field. The park is definitely perfect for bike riding.  You can criss cross through the many paths in the park.

While in the city to attend a reunion of confederate veterans Jefferson Davis Ex-President of the Confederate states of America addressed the veterans from this speakers stand on Wednesday October 26, 1887 on the following Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Davis held a levee for children greeting thousands of them from this stand Mr. Davis stood near the center, resting his hand on a small table while Mrs. Davis sat at his left.

Landscape of Central City Park of Macon

I have no idea why they placed this train as a feature close to the entrance at the park.

The first time I really paid attention to this building.  Freight Station?

There goes that bike again.

Where the annual Used Book Sale is held.

Love the circular engineering of this building.  It reminds me of a mosque.

But then it contains four of this on each side.  Making this building not a circle but a square.  Must be some masonic involve in building this facility.

Bike Riding at the Ocmulgee Park

It was a perfect day today to ride a bicycle at the Ocmulgee Park.  I finally found a place to take my new beach cruiser for a ride.  I really dislike riding my bike downtown because its so many hills.  But the Ocmulgee River Walk is a perfect place to take your bike for a spin.  The trail is long enough to ride and its full of shades and benches in case you get tired.  Its scenic and not so much traffic.  There were some bike riders out there but there's definitely plenty of space to ride.  Overall Ocmulgee River Walk Park gets two thumbs up for the Perfect Bike Route.

Had to stop by and take a shot of this beautiful blossom tree.

Flowers at Washington Avenue Park

I wanted to stay away from my screen today because of this terrible headache.  So I decided to hang out at the park across the street from my favorite place to be Joshua's Coffee House.  I was just thinking of chilling out 'till, like a bee was attracted to the beautiful colors of the flowers.  Luckily I had my Sony cybershot digital camera and I began taking some shots.  Enjoy!

The photo above is an overview of the park.  Taken from up the hill.  Love this view.

Yep, thats me.

I love this flower.  It seems to blossom just right after the Cherry Trees' blossom period.  and it comes in so many shades.  From Sky Blue, to violet, to cream white with a touch of green, just like the picture above.

This flower seems so interesting.  It crowns itself with these violet's flower and in the center is a cluster of little buds and tiny flowers.

This is an overview of the flower with a crown of violets.

Even the green are callings.

I'm not a flower expert.  But I do know my roses.  or atleast I'm hoping I'm right.  The're aren't many roses blossoming today.  But I was lucky enough to capture this rare beauty.

Love the pink and reds of this flower.

with patient and determination, I finally caught it in action.

I was just wondering where are all the bees with all these beautiful flowers.  And then they blessed me with their presence and without their stings.

It was difficult capturing the essence of this flower.  and so I settled for this image.

Where to get free Wi-Fi in Macon?

1. Joshua Cup Coffee House 2.Panera Bread 3. Most of McDonald's Restaurants 4.Krystal Fast Food Restaurants 5.Starbucks - My favorite is probably Starbucks and McDonalds because they allow you to stay as long as you want without them giving you any hassle. Plus All the listing here except for Krystals have places for you to plug in your laptop for extra needed power.
