Towers of Macon

This is the hotel located on Walnut and Riverside Drive.  It is under construction and would love to see it alive again.

This is a church tower  on Walnut Street.  I’ve been taking photos to use on my paintings.  And hopefully to share them with you guys soon.

Dunkin Doughts

Is it me or am I just getting old.  I’m loosing my love for doughnuts, even fresh ones like these from Macon Georgia location.  I remember when we just had one Dunkin Donuts in Macon. Now we have 3 locations.  One downtown, east side and Forsyth Rd on the north side of town.
They still have the best coffee though.  And I still must have one every morning when headed to work.  I just can’t get over it... I remember when I was younger doughnuts tasted so good. Specially the chocolate ones.  But now on my forty’s ... the taste just not there any longer.

Cheesecake from Decadent.

I’ve been indulging on cheesecake lately.  I think because these cheesecake reminds me of our trip to NYC.  Very rich, delicious and they are a perfect pair for tea and coffee.

Vegetarian dish in Mexican restaurant

Practicing vegetarianism and don’t have much time to cook?  Try this vegetarian dish at Fajita’s Mexican restaurant in Macon Georgia.  Mixed veggie grilled and smothered with cheese on top of Mexican rice always does it for me.

Firehouse Sub Meal

Subway for the longest was my choice of Sub Style Sandwiches
Then Quiznos on Presidential Highway in Macon became me and my husband’s favorite but they closed down.  Even the one in Warner Robins Georgia.  Quiznos please come back.
Until then we are settling for Firehouse, which have a good Reuben Sandwich and it is good, made just the way you like it and bread really tops it off, with a slice or two of pickles, side order of chips and cold ice drink... satisfy our hunger.

Best Ice Cream in Macon

If you ever been at Bonnie’s Cookies on Riverside Drive in Macon,
You will notice that they also sell ice cream.  OMG!  You have to try their ice cream on a waffle cone.  It’s guaranteed goodness and happiness and more trips for ice cream.

Kroger Deli on Tom Hill is a great place to grab healthy lunch

I’ve been back on the 9-5 for almost four years now.  And being on 9-5, I rarely have time to meal plan or make lunch.  and I get tired on eating the same restaurant food after four years.  Our lunch consist on usually:  Japanese, Mexican, Jamaican, Panda Express, Zaxby’s  and after four years... they are easily tiresome food.  So I often visit my favorite grocery store which is Kroger on Tom Hill Blvd. in Macon and  take a look at the deli department for their superfood salad selection.  And today I grabbed some ready made to go in a small container some Coosh Coosh.  At this location, they have the most variety in bread, cheese, pies and cakes.  Their deli department is the best in Middle Georgia.

Check them out and tell them I sent you.

Mini doughnuts in Macon Georgia

I had to try these mini goodies.  And they are delicious. Sure nuff will satisfy your sweet tooth.  And won’t feel guilty devouring a couple of so because they are mini!

Decided to post their menu here.
Because when I arrived at the glazed bakery... I was looking for the doughnuts but I only see plane old fashioned style mini doughnuts in front of me.  And I was like “ where are the doughnuts?”  The attendee quickly explained they are right here behind me and I will warm them up and dressed them anyway you want them.  And I was “OH!” “Ok”.  They do dressed them and top them anyway you like.

Vegetarian dish with Osaka Hibachi & Sushi Restaurant in Macon

My mate gets the Salmon and rice with vegetable on the side, which is called “Teriyaki Salmon”.  I prefer the noodles and vegetable dish.  I try not to eat meat as often as possible.  Because the planet needs more vegetarian.  It is good and good for you.

Spud Hot Dogs Closing in downtown Macon

Just the other day I told my husband that I want to get some hotdogs downtown.  So we did and I was glad they were open.  They looked pretty busy with customers and I patiently waited to get service.  I ordered the meal next to the classic.  They are Nathan hot dogs... so you really can’t go wrong. I ordered the meal. So my hot dogs came with chips and drinks.  As I sat there and waited patiently for my cravings... I was thinking in my mind that “wow I am really glad this restaurant is here.”  And that I was glad it was serving this side of town.  But then days later I get the news that he was closing down.

What!!!  I love the location and the hotdogs of Spud.  I really will miss them.   I really wanted to take my phone out and take so many photos.  I love their nostalgic decor.  But I didn’t wanted to seems like a fanatic and just snapped one photo.  The photo above is the only one I have of the “Spud”.  But I’m sure many have documented and taken many photos of Spud downtown.

Walking on Walnut Street

Taking our daily walk the other day on Walnut Street and decided to snap some photos

Bonnies Cookies

New Park built in Macon Georgia. Pleasant Hill Park?

I love the new look... they did got rid of some houses to built this.  It’s right next to the highway.  And there’s going to be this massive wall.  But what I don’t like is to accommodate crossing the highway... they couldn’t just make an overpass walkway.  It’s an intricate ugly engineering from the highway point of view.

What I am afraid of is they just actually provided a big ass wall or canvas for some graffiti artist to have their say.

I still don’t see how this is for this community.  I guess they don’t want to add a basketball court because they don’t want them playing ball here.  Come to think of it, how many parks in Macon have a basketball court?

Where to get free Wi-Fi in Macon?

1. Joshua Cup Coffee House 2.Panera Bread 3. Most of McDonald's Restaurants 4.Krystal Fast Food Restaurants 5.Starbucks - My favorite is probably Starbucks and McDonalds because they allow you to stay as long as you want without them giving you any hassle.
