The Real Estate Market is Scam in Macon Georgia

I don't see how this is even possible.  The real estate market in Macon Georgia is crazy.  Beware buyers don't be dupe like many we know of.  For example:  take a look at this property in Macon Georgia

856 Charlotte Street, Macon, GA 3106

This property is for sale for $86,000

The neighborhood is drug infested and hookers walk up and down this street all day long.  

I guaranteed you that, spend a night here and you won't make it the entire evening without hearing someone screaming and fighting and gun shots.  I kid you not.  They got the nerve to sale this property for $86,000.  

Below is some facts.

As you can see in 2017 the evaluation is only $20,263, no changes in 2018 still the same and in 2019 it jump to $27,047.  No major changes.  and somehow in 2023 it jump to $34,000 and now in $2024 the value is now $66,000.  The only reason why the property value increased from $20 to $60k is because the county wants to collect more property taxes.

Prove me wrong Macon Georgia.  Prove me wrong please.

I can give you hundreds more example but you can look for yourself.  Visit the Macon-Bibb Tax Commissioner county website and see for yourself.  Don't be a sucker buyer.  Do your homework.  

But if you want another example, here is another: 

608 Lynmore Avenue, Macon, GA 3106

Just ask any Maconites if they would live in Lynmore Avenue.

Lynmore Avenue is Murder Capital in Macon Georgia.

the neighbors will tell you, police don't even service this area.

and this property is a laughing stock of Macon.  

Whoever purchased this property got fooled, hoodwinked.  and apparently either the bank is in implicit in this financial crime, or these people didn't go through proper channel to purchased this property.  Because any property appraisal would have told them that this location is not worth $184,900 or even $100k.  Seriously.

It's a dangerous neighborhood.  and major power lines runs through this street.

Macon’s Oldest Bookstore

For the past 25 years, I’ve seen bookstore come and go in Macon Georgia.  Golden Bough Bookstore is probably the oldest.  I could be wrong.  They are located in downtown area.  They carry used books and other stuff.  I was greeting by a Blind cat and talkative cat.  The cat guided me to the craft area and showed me the books I might be interested in.  I purchased several and I got a good deal for four books.  I paid about $16 bucks.  I think the bookstore is in a perfect spot and its a perfect size.  

I did see other stuff other than books like some action figures and dolls but I persuaded myself that I have enough action figures and dolls and as a matter of fact, I need to send them to my niece and nephews, after I play with them :)

But anyway, please support your our local bookstore.  There’s only another bookstore in Macon that I know of and that’s Gottwal Books on Riverside Drive.   If you know of any other, let us know in the comment below.

Subway on Riverside - needs better training on their associates

 My husband and I often eat at Papoulis.  But sometimes I want I grab a sandwich from subway next door and bring it over to eat it with some lentil soup.  Papoulis have the best lentil soup in Macon.  My husband is vegetarian so we frequent this place.  I’m not, sometime I want a turkey sandwich with my soup.   As we exit our vehicle… my husband headed for Paoulis and I to Subway.  I noticed that the he had two girls that he was servicing (the subway employee).  He immediately stop and told me that the restroom was not public.  It kind took me off my square a bit.  And he said I must purchased and pay for a sandwich to use the restroom.  I had plan on making a purchase anyway but he wouldn’t let me use the rest room first.  He insisted on me making a purchase.  I thought Macon business was far from acting like big cities businesses where they are frequent with people taking advantage of their open service.

So I called my husband and told him, you know what I think I’ll eat with you today.

And Papoulis owner was happy to service us and I used their restroom without any incident.

Liquidation spot in Macon

 

We’ve saved thousands of dollars.  Thanks to this liquidation store in Macon.  They are in the Pigly Wigly shopping center.  On the corner of Rocky Creek and Pionono Avenue.  In front of Dollar Tree.

Boutiques in downtown Macon Georgia

 

Must see boutiques on Cherry Street download Macon.  You don’t have to walk too far to get to these two because they are right next to each other.  I’ve a couple of maxi dresses from Daphne’s and I love them both.
