La Bella Morelia downtown Macon

Considered real authentic Mexican food.  And because I’m practicing vegetarian-ism, I tried the cacti dish.  It’s different. It’s not terrible and I am glad I tasted it.  But I wouldn’t order it again, maybe.

Laparilla Mexican restaurant

This is a vegetarian dish at Laparilla Mexican restaurant in Macon Georgia.  I still wonder why the Warner Robins Georgia location shut down.  I’m happy to see the Riverside location in Macon is still open.

Macon Georgia Tent City

Homelessness is a norm in every city through out United States.  Macon Georgia is not immune to it.  People with jobs have a tough time paying rent or mortgage.  So imagine the people who don't have jobs and have more issues that the lack of jobs.  Mental illness, drug or alcohol disease can play a big role in homelessness or sometimes just plain 'ole bad luck.  and in just about every state or city in America, homelessness is criminalize.

I hope and pray that Macon-Bibb get these people some help and get them off this condition.  Because as a people, we aught to be better than this.  I once heard somebody said that it will cost the government less if the government provide the homeless community a tiny houses than allowing this issue to continue without some sort of solution.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon Georgia

St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 812 Poplar Street in Macon, Georgia, is a historic Romanesque Neo-Gothic cathedral renowned for its architectural beauty and rich history.

Historical Background: The church's origins trace back to 1841 when a small group of 50 Catholic parishioners, led by Father James Graham, established the first Catholic parish in Macon by purchasing a Presbyterian church. Over the years, the congregation outgrew several buildings. In 1888, under the leadership of Father Joseph Winkelried, S.J., the decision was made to construct a more substantial church. The foundation was laid in August 1889, and the church was dedicated on November 15, 1903.

Architectural Features: The church is distinguished by its twin spires, each rising 200 feet, making them the tallest in Macon. The interior boasts 60 stained glass windows that narrate the story of Salvation, a white Carrara marble altar and pulpit, and an organ with 1,000 pipes.

Parish Life: St. Joseph Catholic Church offers a variety of services and programs, including daily Mass at 8:00 AM from Monday to Friday, and Sunday Masses at 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM, and 5:00 PM. The church also hosts weekly sessions for Faith & Fellowship on Wednesdays, with morning sessions from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Social Hall and evening sessions from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic School Cuddy Hall.

Visiting Information: The church is open to the public during Mass times and offers a gift shop for visitors. For more information, including office hours and contact details, please visit the church's official website.

Amerson Park in Macon

We decided to take a walk in Amerson Park this weekend to see if the level of the water risen.  But as you can see you can still see the sand dunes on the edge or the river.  It rain for a couple of days.  I thought it rained enough to raise the level of the water to its natural cost.

It really take more than a couple of visit to really take this park all in.  It has many places to keep you in awe.

I love how they build these stairs to reach the ravine of the river to really take it all in and even much closer to nature.  Specially after all week long work inside the office.
