Ron's Kuntry Kitchen

Ron's Kuntry Kitchen is a locally owned restaurant located in Macon, Georgia.  It was once located on Gray Hwy and expanded to Gray and Milledgeville Georgia.  Then I heard his leased ran out and his business began to dwindle.  I guess its true what they say "location, location, location".  Location can make or brake your business.  It took him some time to resurrect his restaurant and even opened one up at the edge of south Macon.  But that store also went out of business.

He is now located right off Riverside Drive, near Tom Hill Sr. Blvd.  and the restaurant seems to be doing good.  I'm not a big fan of soul food.  But he's soul food its actually good.  I especially like the corn and bake chicken, which I usually order.  This is the second time I've ordered food here and always order the same.  Bake chicken, some times cabbage, but definitely the delicious corn and macaroni.  The dinner comes with some sorts of pancake made out of cornmill.

1842 Inn Bed & Breakfast

The one and only Bed and Breakfast place in Macon Georgia. The 1842 Inn is a Victorian Style mansion located on College Street in the downtown Macon. This is Oprah's choice of stay in Macon. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the room she slept in. But maybe next time. 1842 Inn is not just for Bed & Breakfast. They also host several types of events, such as wedding, anniversaries, family reunions and such. They are also coming up with a $5,000 package for weddings. Host your wedding here at 1842 Inn. You can get married on their gorgeous location, have your family members stay for the weekend in the 10 bedrooms cottage, a house all to your own and if you need more rooms, they can accomodate you at the main house. They provide breakfast and catering for your wedding. Hopefully it also will include photography in this wedding package. Yep, you heard it here first. I think its a great deal and a wonderful package and a memorable place to have your wedding.

And what I love the most about 1842 Inn is their Victorian sytle furnishing and decor.  Check it out.

Day after the Snow

It is so beautiful in Macon right now.  The sun is shinning so bright and there's still plenty of snow.  Although I'm not planning to go anywhere today by driving, I had to go outside and take pictures in front of the house.  As I stepped outside the house, It looks like it was still snowing because the snow from the top of the trees is falling.  It is so beautiful.  I never experienced anything like it.  It is gergous.  Being from north Florida which never get snow.

Snowing in Macon Georgia

I decided to go out today to conduct meetings with possible clients.  I felt the chill in the air. I've seen on the msnbc.com video footage of the snow dilemma in North east coast.  I figure it wouldn't reach us here in Georgia.  and I have forgotten that it snowed in Macon last year also.  Around 2-3pm today started snowing and hasn't stop.  We must have atleast 3-4 inches of snow and its still coming down.  Here are some photos I've taken outside my friend's home.  It looks like winter wonderland.  It would have been nice to get this snow during Christmas.

But is it odd that I've been in Macon over 13 years and I can recall only one time did we get snow like this and it wasn't even this much.  But this is now our second year in a row, Macon has gotten snowed.  I hope this is not a sign of Global Warming.

WPGA owner is racist?

T and I were running errands today.   We decided to visit WPGA on Forsyth Street close to downtown Macon.  We were so impressed about their revolving digital signage outside of their building.  Part of the revolving signs states "Advertise Here call ....".  According to T, she recently called 'em lately and have already gotten some imformation regarding advertising on their digital billboard outside.  But she was ready to spend some money advertising on it.  So we decided to stop by their office.

As we arrived, the glass door wouldn't open.  You had to pick up the phone receiver and dial 27.  After trying a couple of times.  No one answered.  Maybe they are at lunch, is what I was thinking.  "Till this old white man asked as in a weird look, "What did we want"  I can't recall exactly his choice of words.  But I immediately felt awkwardness but just brushed it off my mind.  He went in and asked us maybe he could be of some help and further ask what exactly were we here for.  As T explained my cell phone text messaging system rang.  So I told T to go ahead as I answer my cell phone.

Few minutes later T left out the room as if she was just so shocked and speechless.  I was wondering why the meeting was so suddenly ended.  Anyway I saw the old white man walking away and T walking towards me. I just knew things didn't go so well.  But I didn't expect her to be so upset about it.  As soon the door to the outside closed, T said "I can't believe this man was so racist!".   Maybe I should let her tell you the rest.  Hopefully she should let her listeners know exactly what is going on by talking about the incident on her radio talk show, The Lovely Magazine Broadcast.  She told me the man was the owner of WPGA.  I should have gotten a picture of him.

I wouldn't be surprised that there are still people out here who lives in Macon Georgia that are racist and very racist.  After all it has not been so long ago that lynching and other hate crimes were once considered lawful in Macon.

St. Peter Claver of Macon Georgia

St. Peter Claver School was founded in 1913by St. Katherine Drexel to give children of every race the education that they need as both children of God and as our children who have so many gifts and talents to be developed.  Since 1913, St. Peter Claver School has educated children of all races, creeds, and nationalities.  It has contributed immensely to the cultural harmony and integration of the city of Macon Georgia.

133 Ward Street, Macon, Georgia 31204

I was really impressed with the school location, architectural designs and how it just makes you feel like you just stepped back in time when education + morality was so important.  The landscaping was simple but enough to create an everlasting impact.  I didn't even know how their curriculumn was but the image of their school spoke for itself.  That if the school cared for their environment and their facility as much as it shows then they must also take good care of their educational values.

Where to get free Wi-Fi in Macon?

1. Joshua Cup Coffee House 2.Panera Bread 3. Most of McDonald's Restaurants 4.Krystal Fast Food Restaurants 5.Starbucks - My favorite is probably Starbucks and McDonalds because they allow you to stay as long as you want without them giving you any hassle. Plus All the listing here except for Krystals have places for you to plug in your laptop for extra needed power.
